How to save your precious time

Why can cooking feel like a chore?

Every day we seek out convenience items and services. We spend our hard earned cash in the effort to save time, and then we waste time looking for these “convenience” items. In the meantime, we increase our anxiety, because we want everything quicker than the speed of light, and we get frustrated when our scrolling is delayed or the screen doesn’t load. Then we forget why we wanted to save time in the first place.

In the long run, a “saving time” mindset is really a scarcity mindset, costing us our well being and mental health. When we are focused on “saving time” we miss the joy in life. Just like a white and black picture, when we focus on the negative (or black space) we miss the positive (or white space). This is the same in the kitchen. Cooking can feel like a chore when we focus on cutting corners and forget all of the goodness it brings.

When it feels like a chore, we get overwhelmed, anxious, and we can throw any goals out the window. If you let overwhelm take over in the kitchen, your health will be greatly affected, potentially leading to anxiety, depression, fatigue, obesity, and risk of countless other diseases.
